Recently, I went to my neighbor’s home with my mom. This was the conversation between two aunties and my mom.

Aunty 1: “Oh God! It has been 2 hours since I switched on the geyser.”

My mom: “Ayyo! That’s so much electricity wasted, and the geyser might burst.”

Aunty 1: “We’re the kind of people who leave the geyser on for such a long time. We’ve gotten used to it.”

Aunty 2: “Same here, we also leave the geyser on for a long time.”

Aunty 1: “Oh really? But we don’t leave your home in the dark like you do. Even at midnight, our home looks like a bright day with all the lights switched on.”

Aunty 2: “Yes, we do the same thing. These days I’m getting a headache from all the light, but we still switch them all on.”

Aunty 1: “Our son-in-law also always puts the lights on. We have to run behind him to shut them down.”

Aunty 2: “Yes, it’s the same in our home.”

This conversation continued until each of them tried to prove their wealth.

So, one of the easiest ways to become poor is to show off.
