My sister joined a semi-residential college, which basically means that the college runs from 6 am to 10 pm. Yesterday, I went to pick up my sister and a bunch of really young girls were standing near me, waiting for the phone so they can talk with their parents. Having had a bitter experience in a hostel, I offered my phone to one of the girls to make a call to her home, and my phone was passed around within the crowd.
One girl whispered the following sentences in my sister’s ear:
“Is she your sister? Does she come here every day? If yes, can I get her phone to call my home? I will share my snacks with you and your sister.”
I don’t know why, but I had a smile on my face. The little girl wanted to bribe us with chocolates in exchange for the phone. Her anxiety in the new hostel and finding her way with new people was evident.
Let us wish the best of luck from the bottom of our hearts to those little creatures.
Yes, the deal was closed. I gave them my phone to call their homes and they remained strong and happy in return. (Double profit for me!)
